The Travel Captain, Hashimoto's Disease

Hi, I'm Ro!

In 2016, I was officially diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease that attacks and destroys your thyroid tissue. I had been experiencing symptoms for years and went to multiple doctors and specialists but found no answers. In that time, I suffered from other autoimmune issues like alopecia arreata, arthritis and eczema. I also had shingles, something only immunocompromised people get. Finally, after receiving the diagnosis 'by accident' after a trip to my gynecologist who knew what I was going through , I embarked on two years of intense research into autoimmune disease and overall health. In 2018, I started the AutoImmune Protocol Diet, along with high quality supplements and lifestyle changes including stress management. I had no desire to embark on a life long journey of medicines. Within two months, my labs came back in optimal ranges, I felt like my normal self and once again recognized myself in the mirror. That same year, I finally got pregnant after eighteen months of "unexplained" fertility issues. With small consistent steps toward better health, I was able to get past my infertility with no IVF or hormone treatment necessary. Later in the year, I used this travel blog to write about my experience. Over the course of 2019, over 200,000 of you read my articles on autoimmune issues with many contacting me for more information and advice. In January 2019, I gave birth to a baby boy and in 2020, pursued my certification in Integrative Health and Nutrition so I could better connect with you. Currently, I live in Italy with my husband, in his hometown, and of course our son. I left my previous career in finance, with a degree from an Ivy League University, working for Fortune 100 companies in New York and Dubai behind! I needed to share with everyone how they could get their life back. That is my new mission apart from raising a physically and mentally healthy kid. My eventual goal is to get my Master's Degree in Integrative Medicine. I hope you'll join me on this path to better health.


do i need to have all my labs done first?

Labs can be very helpful in making initial assessments and tracking progress. However, you do not need to have labs done prior to your session(s). The best gauge of progress is how you feel. We implement healthy and positive changes that will have a beneficial impact on overall wellbeing.

what is a certified health coach?

A health coach is a conduit between the patient and their doctor. Together, we make short and long term changes toward better health. People use health coaches to help with a variety of health issues, such as weight loss, stress reduction, the management of chronic conditions, improving diet and exercise, cessation of tobacco usage, addiction, and adjusting to a life-altering health event, etc.

is my information private?

Your information is completely private. I do not share it with anyone at all. It is stored on my private computer, not even in the cloud.

how long will it take to get better?

That is entirely up to you. I’ve had clients implement changes and experience a reduction of symptoms in as little as two weeks. 

what if i dont want to do the AIP diet?

That’s totally fine. While I do suggest the removal of inflammatory foods in the initial stages, there are other diets like GAPS and FODMAPS which have proven effective for many. It is a trial and error process. We can come up with a personalized way of eating just for you.

can i cancel or reschedule my session?

All cancellations and rescheduling must be taken care of at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session time. A full refund will be given in this case.

How do i start?
